Kamview Nordic Centre Ski / Snowshoe in the Schools Program 

Program Overview 

Kamview Nordic Centre is excited to welcome students back to the “Ski / Snowshoe in the Schools Program.” This initiative introduces elementary students to the basics of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, offering a safe and engaging environment. Participants not only experience the exhilaration of skiing or snowshoeing, but also learn about nature, practice basic map reading, and have fun exploring the trails. 

Facilities and Trail Access 

Kamview features a spacious, accessible chalet with a concession, rental equipment, more than 30 km of groomed ski trails, and approximately 15 km of snowshoe trails. Friendly staff and skilled instructors ensure a welcoming atmosphere. 

Program Details 

• Sessions run for approximately two hours: either 9:30am – 11:30am or noon – 2:00pm.
• Local ski groups attending two or more sessions receive a pre-arranged in-school boot fitting and each participant is given a complimentary pass at the end of the sessions.
• IMPORTANT: Unless arranged at registration, rates cannot be reduced for individual absences as instructors and equipment are prepared in advance. 
• Class sizes may be limited to 30 students to ensure optimal instruction and equipment. The instructor-to-student ratio is approximately 1:10. 

Inclusivity and Assistance 

While we strive to be inclusive, one-on-one instruction for students with higher needs is not provided. If a student requires dedicated assistance, please arrange for a parent or helper who is comfortable on skis or snowshoes to accompany the student.

Fee Breakdown 

Four Ski Sessions (Recommended for optimal learning and enjoyment) 

• Option #1: $96 per student (includes four-day passes, rentals, instruction, and award)
• Option #2: $70 per student (includes four-day passes, instruction, and award; student provides equipment) 
• Option #3: $42 per student (includes guide and award; student provides equipment and is a current Kamview member) 

A pre-arranged in-school boot fitting is included for local groups. 

Single Ski Session Per Student 

• Option #1: $24 per student (includes ski pass, rentals, instruction/admin)
• Option #2: $17.50 per student (includes ski pass, instruction/admin; student provides equipment) 
• Option #3: $10.50 per student (includes instruction/admin; student provides equipment and is a current Kamview member) 

PLUS $75 (per school) for in-school boot fitting 

Single Snowshoe Session Per Student 

• Option #1: $17 per student (includes snowshoe pass, rentals, guide/admin)
• Option #2: $11 per student (includes snowshoe pass, guide/admin; student provides equipment) 
• Option #3: $5 per student (includes guide/admin; student provides equipment and is a current Kamview member) 

Teacher and Volunteer Rates 

• One complimentary teacher or volunteer (equipment provided if needed) for every ten students. 
• Additional parents/helpers: Ski – $15.50 per person (trail pass only) or $28.50 (trail pass and equipment) per session. Snowshoe – $8.75 (trail pass only) or $19 (trail pass and equipment)
