Join the Kamview Jackrabbit Youth Learn to Ski Program!

Calling all kids ages 4 to 14!  Do you love snow, having fun, and learning new skills? Then you absolutely HAVE to check out the Kamview Jackrabbit Youth Learn to Ski Program at the amazing Kamview Nordic Centre!  This awesome, volunteer-run program coaches 100+ kids every winter, and we’d love for YOU to be a part of it!

 

What’s in Store?

Get ready for action-packed Saturday mornings (approximately 11 am to 12:30 pm – your coaches will confirm the exact time) filled with fun and learning! Level 4 and Track Attack skiers have bonus Thursday evening sessions! The fun kicks off on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 and continues until Saturday,  March 28th, 2026. Once you register, you’ll get all the details straight from your coaches and coordinator.

 

Jackrabbit Categories

Find Your Perfect Fit! (Ages are guidelines)

 * Bunnies (Ages 4-6): True beginners! An adult must accompany the child during lessons. Classic skiing only, boots and skis only – no poles just yet!

 * Level 1 (Ages 5-7): Beginners with a little ski experience. An adult must accompany the child during lessons. Classic skiing only, boots and skis only – no poles just yet! 

 * Level 2 (Ages 6-8):  Completed Level 1? Awesome! An adult is recommended to be with the child. Classic equipment required, but skate skiing might be introduced. Boots, skis, and poles required. 

 * Level 3 (Ages 7-9): Completed Level 2? You’re ready for the next level! Both skate and classic equipment required. 

 * Level 4 (Ages 8-10):  Completed Level 3? Fantastic! Both skate and classic equipment required.

 * Track Attack (Ages 9-12): Completed Level 4? Get ready to race! Both skate and classic equipment required, with an introduction to racing. 

 *  Adventure Club (Ages 13+):  Intended as a social group for teens who have completed level 4 or track attack who still want to ski, but aren’t interested in competition. $TBD

  * Big Thunder Nordic Ski Club:  For those who love to race!  Many Kamview Jackrabbits join this club after completing our program (Ages 11+).

 

Fees:

The Kamview Jackrabbit program fee is $85 for Bunnies and $90 for all other levels, plus a $26 fee for LSSD ($2), XCSO ($12), and Nordiq Canada ($12) memberships/insurance.

These memberships support cross-country skiing development in Ontario and Canada and provide liability insurance.

 

Important Notes:

 * These fees cover the Kamview Jackrabbit Program only.

 * Each child (6 and up) and accompanying adult, needs a Thunder Bay Nordic Trails (TBNT) membership or day pass. Get your TBNT memberships HERE Day passes are available ONLINE.

 * Every child (and accompanying adult) needs their own ski equipment.

Our program wouldn’t be possible without our incredible volunteers!  A huge THANK YOU to all the parents, grandparents, and young adults who dedicate their time to making this program so special.  As our young skiers grow, so do our volunteer opportunities!  Want to join our amazing team of coaches? We offer training through LSSD (paid for by the club!), which is a fantastic way to boost your skiing and coaching skills.  If you know anyone who loves having fun in the snow with kids, tell them to get in touch!

Lesson Fee Refund Policy:

Refunds for LSSD, XCSO, and Nordiq Canada memberships are not available.  Only Jackrabbit lesson fees are refundable.

 * Change of Mind: Full refund (minus membership fees) if requested within five days of registration and before November 30th.

 * Poor Snow Conditions: Sorry, refunds are not available due to poor weather.

 * Illness or Injury:

   * Short-term Coach Illness: Lessons will be made up by extending the season or adding dates (if possible). No refunds.

   * Long-term Illness (Jackrabbit or Coach): Prorated refund for the rest of the season.

 

Please Remember:

 * All refund requests must be in writing.

 * Refund checks will be mailed to the address on file. We are not responsible for lost checks.

 * Medical refund requests require a medical certificate.
