Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park
Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park is one of the best kept skiing secrets in the region. Not only are the trails spectacularly beautiful, they offer terrain that is loved by everyone who gives them a try.
Just 25 minutes from downtown Thunder Bay these trails are adjacent to one of the largest and most visited waterfalls in Ontario. Often called the “Niagara of the North”, Kakabeka Falls is a must see feature in Northwestern Ontario. Just follow Arthur Street (HWY 11/17) west for approximately 25 kms.
You can locate the ski trails by turning left on hwy 590 and then left on Luckens Road. The parking lot is on the left when you turn on Luckens Road. There is no chalet at Kakabeka so be prepared to put your boots on in the car! There is a fee box beside the hut in the parking lot for those that aren’t members – Adult $10, Student $5, Child $4. If you are a member, please leave your membership on the dash of your car.
There are 13 km of well groomed trails at the park and something for everyone!
